“What matters in a story is the heart of its hero.” - Barbara Kingsolver
Sean Jackson is an American photographer & filmmaker blending imagery at the intersection of art and commerce, committed to the unsung narratives of everyday heroism. An apprentice to legendary photographer Bruce Weber, he has developed a distinct visual language that bridges documentary and artistic expression. Jackson's work draws inspiration from pioneers like Danny Lyons, focusing on small communities and the profound stories of their lived experiences. He prefers to illuminate the quiet dignity and resilience of working-class groups.
Originally from Virginia, Jackson is a graduate of the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. He lives in New York City.
